September 24, 2007 Mr. Shim 1 comment

Thank you all for your support and continued readership of IT Tazee. The blog has grown from a few readers now to literally hundreds each month. Its a nice warm fuzzy feeling at first and then it hits you that the one room apartment and the rented car is nice but just wont do anymore… and so I have decided to move IT Tazee to its own domain! (which means we move out of the garage and into a brand new office!)

Go to : http://www.ittazee.com for the new site!

A thank you to wordpress.com for hosting the blog. The current address will remain the same, but all new posts will now happen on ittazee.com!

Earlier this month I mentioned AboutUS.org, Five Rivers, Scrybe, Pixsense, and more… the latest to add to my fast growing ‘Innovate.pk’ list is Orgoo, which was featured at TechCrunch40, a very highly respected annual Silicon Valley conference where 40 vigorously screened startups come to demo and show off their products and services.

CAA selects IBM GBS for ERP consultancy project

September 18, 2007 Mr. Shim Leave a comment

The civil aviation authority (the government entity that manages airports, gives out licenses to airlines, etc etc) has finally decided that its a better idea to use a computer to record your financial and organizational data (welcome to 1989..even if you finally got here in 2007!) .

IBM GBS has been selected as the vendor to do an ERP study and suggest a suitable ERP package. I’m betting its Oracle ;) . No word yet on who does implementation, but usually the evaluator (IBM in this case) does not perform the implementation, but does oversee it. Read more…

I think this is a first for any software company in Pakistan and will go down in history as a first among firsts :)

ClearCube Technology’s  Sentral 5.6 Enterprise Management Suite is developed by FiveRivers Technologies, out of Lahore, and has been improved year after year for the past 4-5 years. FRT has been working with Clearcube for awhile now and the FRT team builds most of their enterprise management software products that compete with the likes of HP, VMware, IBM Tivoli, etc.

This year, Clearcube entered Sentral into the  VMware’s VM World 2007 and won the award for best Desktop virtualization software, over, yes OVER VMware workstation.

Pre-order your iPhone at MediaCenter

September 11, 2007 Mr. Shim 1 comment

Earlier published a post about getting iPhones from Beliscity. Well, I just found a better (and a more solid warranty) deal thanks to Qurats comment on that post. Mediacenter, an Apple reseller is taking preorders for iPhones, their price is 50,000 PKR (still yikes but less than Beliscity’s 60,000 PKR) . If you want to order normally when its in stock, it will cost you between 38,000-49,000 PKR.
