UBL looks for server consolidation

I guess those hundreds of servers are finally becoming more than an eye-soar and an IT management nightmare for UBL. The search is on for a viable server consolidation strategy, and UBL is not the only one looking for such a solution. The answer? VMware, probably, though I dont know of any VMware gurus in pakistan, not even someone who might be certified to use GSX server or the server load balancing product.

I use VMare workstation heavily for my rapid test enviroments, and having complete servers that are essentially files does have huge advantages, but there also comes a significant performance loss due to the extra layer between the hardware and your OS kernel. Lets see what UBL finally decides to do.
